  • About

CC was born in South Africa. She was discovered as an artist by one of the executives from Sun International and given the opportunity to perform at their venues across the globe. She prefers to write her own music and also writes for other musicians. CC is married with 2 children and enjoys writing biographies when not on tour, recording or writing music. Her lyrics are direct, topical and has an honesty that sometimes cuts to the bone. She is well known for speaking her mind, standing up for what she believes in and fighting for those less fortunate. CC spends a lot of time supporting charities by doing shows to raise funds. She’s a Christian and has a tendency to disarm prejudiced attitudes with humor.
CC is a avid supporter of South African music and have even sponsored radio programs to showcase South African artists. She also believes in developing young talent and she sponsors at least one young artist per year and help to introduce them in the industry.
CC records her albums in Nashville with her producer Gerry Peters.
CC’s philosophy: There is no dream unreachable, no obstacle to great to fulfill your destiny. Find something to laugh about every day. Don’t ever let a chance go by to say “I love you”. Forgiveness doesn’t make the other person right but it sets you free. No person is ever too insipid to care for. Rather hurt someone’s feelings than lie. If you touched one person’s life in an audience it was a successful show. Always remember to say thank you, doesn’t matter how small the gesture. Memories and special occasions are created, they don’t just happen by themselves. Never give with the idea of expecting something in return. Your worth isn’t calculated by the amount of times you’ve failed but by the times you’ve had the guts to get up again. Always remember that life is a gift! If you concentrate on the past or the future too much, you miss the journey.

Writing and finally recording “Waking in a Dream” was a 20 year dream come true. Growing up with various influences, from Tammy Wynette to Martina McBride and and eventually settling on Country/Pop as my own favorite genre made this album very special to me.

Being fortunate to work with Thinus Odendaal as my producer, who is also a very accomplished musician himself made it a lot easier. We both loved the old school country vibe, combined with the modern feel of the electric guitars. This gave the album a very unique flavor. Thinus lived and worked as a musician in the United States for a long time and is well known as the drummer for other artists and bands such as Elvis Blue, John Ellis and Joe Niemand. Thinus was also part of the famous gospel band Tree 63, that made a tremendous impact on South African music and made a name for South African musicians abroad. Therefor his knowledge and experience were tremendously valuable to me.

The album songs were written and chosen chronologically to tell the story of my life and my perspective on it. The lyrics are personal and as honest as I could allow myself to be, looking back at my life and my career as a musician.

The album has a variety of old style country music combined with the more modern Country/Pop that is more familiar and well known in South Africa, with some great lead guitar solo’s that makes the album current and commercial.

Currently we are writing a complete Afrikaans album and a Tribute album to the late Tammy Wynette that will be recorded in Nashville, Tennessee.

I was extremely lucky to work with some of the best musicians in the industry and I hope that the songs will speak from the heart and give the listeners something to take home and something that would speak to their soles.
